Over the years I’ve learnt that connecting with the charedi community is like descending into a mine. You have only the light you bring, there are dangerous gases around that can poison you, and you need to minimise your time there. You need protective gear and a clear escape route so as not to become trapped.
Unlike a physical mine, this is psychic, with strong, toxic energies that once you become sensitised to, you realise are very powerful. For someone like me, who was raised and trained in that energy, it can be overwhelming.
This energy ritual is to surround myself with the protection I need before entering this space, and to enable me to emerge unscathed.
